Brazil sat in the first BRIC foreign-ministers meeting in 2006 and hosted later summits as the grouping hardened from an investment label into a leaders’ format. Its membership is not in dispute.

This page records Brazil’s place in the roster and its regional setting. It does not publish GDP, force-structure, or other quantitative rankings. For bloc definition see What is BRICS; for institutional instruments see BRICS Policy.

Situation note

Brazil’s foreign-policy posture toward the grouping is a diplomacy question, not a force-structure question. Read U.S. policy coverage on US Foreign Policy and treaty-level reporting on Foreign Diplomacy.
